How to be a creative instructor
Being a creative instructor comes in many different forms!
Being more creative or having more variety in my teaching toolbox is something I used to worry about a lot.
Over time and with the guidance of many mentors I've realised creativity does not always come in the form of a new transition or amazing exercise nobody has ever seen before, and actually most clients don't even care!
For me, creativity has taken a new form....
Creativity comes in the way I use my words to guide and empower when I teach,
In the way I hold myself as I walk through the room,
In the way I help others see what's possible and gently nudge them just a little bit further outside their comfort zone.
I'm creativity in the way I build trusted relationships with all different types of people and in the way I help people trust themselves
and often, the most surprising thing of all is that I find my creative spark through repetition! Like loads and loads of repetition!!
The funny thing is when I am my most creative, when I am most in flow is the moment of realisation I have in each class I am teaching that I am not solely driving this experience, this isn't just about me or just about them. I am co-creating an experience with the people and energies in front of me. We are in this together!
It's a movement dance that is completely unique and one which you can never replicate even if you teach the exact same set of exercises!
